
Youth Information Agency (OIA) is a leading national non-governmental and non-partisan organization in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the field of youth policy development with aim to improve the position of young people and their participation in society.
Through its 3 sectors: Info Service, Policy Sector and Capacity Building Program, OIA cooperates with over 400 governmental bodies and institutions and more than 300 youth organizations and 210 schools all over the country, in the region of South-East Europe as well as with a number of international organizations, media and young people in general.
OIA was created in 2001 as a spinoff of the Open Society Fund BiH (Joint Youth Program) founded on the basis of the Foundation's Strategy and UNDP Human Development Report in BiH – Youth 2000.
OIA is the national partner for BiH and member of the European Youth Information and Counseling Agency (ERYICA). OIA is a member of the South-East European Youth Network (SEEYN) and the European network UNITED. In 2004 OIA became Action Partner of the OXFAM International Youth Parliament from Sidney. From 2005 OIA is a National Coordinator for the European Governance Network (EGN). It is one of founders of the European Movement in Bosnia-Herzegovina in 2006 and the Association of Public Policy Analysts (AJP) in Bosnia-Herzegovina in 2007. In 2009 OIA becomes only NGO – member of the Steering Board of “Youth Employment Project 2009-2011” led by GOPA/SDC/ADA. In 2009 becomes member of BH NGO Council. OIA is leading Network “Youth Activism Initiative”, which has membership of 210 secondary schools from 91 municipalities.
