“Who is afraid of wolf yet? – truths and lies”
in co-operation with WWF - World Wide Fund for Nature (formerly World Wildlife
Fund) YCL has started co-operation with the world leading environmental
organization WWF trough project “Who is afraid of wolf yet? – “truths and lies”.
Lack of scientific data about wolf in Bosnia and Herzegovina, missing law
protection, poaching and uncontrolled hunt on wolfes, general situation
regarding conservation of this species in BiH, post war ”explosion” of hunters
as well as myths and legends about wolfs are the reason why YCL's Eco-Group
started to work on this project. The main goal of the project is to preserve
wolfs and their habitats in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Planned project:
In co-operation with WWF - World Wide Fund for Nature (formerly World Wildlife Fund) YCL is currently involved in a project developing phase of a project proposal for nature conservation and sustainable development (temporally named Bosnia-Herzegovina Green Belt), covering a wide region spanning through BiH (10% of the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina), and including the Livno area and the Medium-Upper Neretva basin, till the border with Montenegro, which will approximately becoming more concretely at the end of 2004.
